Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE)

Health, Safety, & Environmental

Safety assurance is key in the process industries such as oil & gas, power generation, water & wastewater, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, and pulp & paper. As a first for Continuing Education, this course identifies and explains the regulations enforced by government agencies used to protect workers from equipment and substances that can be dangerous if not handled or used properly to ensure and minimize risk of exposure to the public from safety, health, and environmental hazards.

Safety, Health, and Environment is part of the NAPTA Series for Process Technology, this training can be taken independently as a CE certificate course and does not require A.A.S. or C2 participation.

This course qualifies for 3 transferable SCH credits towards an A.A.S Workforce degree or C2 Workforce Certificate in Process Technology.

About the Training

This training is designed to help you understand the Safety, Health, and Environment course in an interactive way. As a result of successfully mastering the content presented in this course you will understand the appropriate steps required to protect against various hazards such as the short- and long-term effects of chemical or biological hazards on individual health and safety and on the environment. You will also learn good safety habits and safe work practices and understand the different government regulations, become familiar with common tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) that are used in the process industries to promote safety in the workplace, and protect the environment along with adhering to engineering and administrative controls set in place by standards in the workplace. Training content is always related to each of the training chapters and is presented to address current industry needs at the time of the manual’s publication.
