Required information session dates/times?

The signed Statement of Understanding, which must be submitted before enrollment, may replace the required attendance at an Information Session.

 

What are the required courses?

Total tuition cost for both classes is $1350.  Fees are subject to change without notice:

PLAB 1023,  96 hours:  $825
Phlebotomy Lecture and Student Lab:

Topics include patient identification, professionalism, medical terminology, and anatomy and physiology. Skill development in performing a variety of blood collection methods with an emphasis on infection control. 

PLAB 1060, 120 hours:  $525
Phlebotomy Clinical:

Clinical placement occurs after successful completion of PLAB 1023.  Student will obtain blood from actual patients within an assigned hospital or clinical setting.

Certificate of completion? (216 hours, 21.6 CEU’s)

Upon finishing both PLAB 1023 and PLAB 1060, the student will receive a Certificate of Completion and is eligible for national certification examinations.

 

Required books?

REQUIRED BOOKSPhlebotomy Essentials, 7th edition, ISBN-13 978-1496387073 by McCall, Student Workbook for Phlebotomy Essentials, 7th edition, ISBN-13 978-1496399878, and Phlebotomy Exam Review, 7th edition, ISBN-13: 978-1496399892. The workbook must be new as it is used for assignments. Books may be purchased from the HCC bookstore, Barnes & Noble (www.barnesandnoble.com), the publisher and other online sources.
