Hundreds of students and their parents packed the HCC West Loop Center Auditorium to kick off the Minority Male Initiative program Saturday, February 23. Actor Terrence Howard and the 350 in attendance were informed about the upcoming STEM Academy for 2013.

Houston Community College celebrated the 2nd Bi-Annual Men of Honor art exhibition, a Minority Male Initiative (MMI) with an opening reception Friday, April 5. The exhibition showcases exceptional art from students and faculty advisors who show promise as creative workers in Houston’s growing creative economy. In attendance were HCC Trustees Bruce A. Austin, District II and Carroll G. Robinson, District IV.

The HCC Minority Male Initiative (MMI) STEM Academy’s Closing Ceremony was amazing. More than 237 youngsters from all over the city of Houston attended the closing ceremony on July 17, 2013. The summer STEM Academy and the event took place at The Young Men’s College Preparatory College Academy located at 1701 Bringhurst Street. Houston, Texas 77020.

HCC Coleman College for Health Sciences campus was the site for a community health fair Saturday, April 13. The campus has become a focal point for community activities, and this event brought families together for health and wellness information and resources in a family atmosphere.
