HCC is initiating the process for planning its Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) in conjunction with the college’s SACSCOC (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges) reaffirmation process in 2021 and 2022. The SACSCOC Principles of Accreditation requires that the QEP demonstrates the institution’s commitment to enhance overall institutional quality and effectiveness by focusing on an issue the institution considers important to improving student learning outcomes and or /success.

The process requires we gather input from all stakeholder groups who interface with our students.  The active participation of students, faculty, staff, community leaders is critically important.   As we begin to explore and develop the next QEP, we invite you to get involved and be a part of this journey by applying to be a member of the QEP Core Team/Advisory Council.

The roles and responsibilities of this team will include:

  1. Understand the scope and purposes of a QEP,
  2. Understand the SACSCOC QEP Guidelines,
  3. Facilitate the collection of constituent input and ideas in the selection of topics and development of the plan,
  4. Study institutional data and other sources of information in order to ascertain areas of greatest need in student learning,
  5. Recommend topics for plan selection and,
  6. Contribute to the development of the plan once the topic has been selected.


The Core Team will consist of 25-30 team members who represent the characteristics of our multifaceted institution. The expectation is that, if selected, each member will commit to participating for the duration of the process, which is expected to last a minimum of 2 years.  Advance supervisory approval is required.
