Occupational Therapy Assistant students win first place in statewide event

The HCC Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) team took first place in the Student Knowledge Challenge Bowl at the Texas Occupational Therapy Association 2024 Annual Conference on Nov. 16.

The HCC OTA team competed against associate, master, and doctorate-level teams from across the state, beating out Abilene Christian University and The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio for the $1,000 prize.

The six members of the HCC OTA squad were: Giau Dang, Kayli Graham, Katherine Hoang, May Silvestre, Huyen Tran, and Kim Volek. The cash will all go to the HCC Student Occupational Therapy Association organization.
