The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship has named HCC as an Apprenticeship Ambassador, recognizing the college’s role serving in promoting, expanding, and diversifying Registered Apprenticeships and its support in strengthening the nation’s workforce.

Following the publication of his book on the history of Houston's two Chinatowns, Zen Zheng, HCC Southwest's director of communications, has been invited to speak on his research at a national conference in October.

HCC Career & Transfer Services successfully launched its Fall 2024 Transfer Connections Fair series with a strong showing at the first event on Sept. 30 at the Eastside campus and completed the series at the Spring Branch campus on Oct. 10.

Dominic Durley and 22 of his classmates took part in a community outreach event doing something they all enjoy – putting smiles on the faces of their clients – in this case, cutting the hair of Blackshear Elementary School scholars.

HCC continues to be a driving force in supporting small businesses through its HOU Made program, an initiative to provide a comprehensive support system for local entrepreneurs.
