Bring your eighth graders to Houston Community College’s Career Exploration Day, in partnership with HISD, for an impactful event that introduces students to real-world career paths. This experience helps students choose the right endorsement, igniting their passion and confidence to make informed decisions for their future.

What to Expect
Event Benefits for Schools
- Hands-On Career Exploration: Students will participate in interactive sessions across HCC’s unique Centers of Excellence, exploring fields from health sciences to technology, arts, and skilled trades.
- Guidance to Select Endorsement: By connecting students with real-world professionals and immersive activities, this event empowers them to identify career interests and align their educational path and endorsement with future goals.
- Early Exposure to College and Career Options: This firsthand experience in HCC’s state-of-the-art facilities provides with a positive, early experience at a college.
Tentative Schedule
HCC's Career Exploration Day is tailored for eighth graders to engage in hands-on activities in fields that interest them. From cutting-edge maker spaces and VR labs to professional art studios and health science simulations, students will explore a range of career options to help them select their endorsement.
- 8 am - 9 am | Travel to HCC Center of Excellence
- 9 am - 9:30 am | Welcome and Check-in
- 9:30 - 11:00 am | Center of Excellence (Choice 1) Session, Tour and Activity
- 11:00 - 11:30 am | Lunch provided by HCC
- 11:30 am - 1 pm | Center of Excellence (Choice 2) Session, Tour and Activity
