Don Henderson
Education Program Manager | Apple
Don has been with Apple for 19 years and currently serves as Education Program Manager on the Apple Community Education Initiative Team. Prior to joining this team Don was the Senior Manager for Creative Expression on the worldwide product marketing team focusing on education. During his time at Apple, Don has helped create the Challenge Based Learning Framework, implemented a strategy for the Creative Markets and Career and Technical Education, and worked on large-scale education content initiatives. Don’s formal relationship with Apple began in 1999 when he became an Apple Distinguished Educator. Don has worked closely with the ADE team since 2003 and has assisted with the planning and execution of Annual ADE Institutes.
Prior to joining Apple, Don was a high school teacher and the Director of Instructional and Library Technology for the Grossmont Union High School District in El Cajon, CA. Don is also a two-time Smithsonian Laureate for the award winning Digital Media and staff development programs he created for the district. Don’s passion is helping learners of all ages to use technology to solve challenges to make the world a better place.
Don’s passions outside of work include photography, playing guitar, golfing, biking, hiking and skiing.
