Section 2: Adding Integers

It Is Important That You Watch This Video First

To add integers, you should first consider the signs of each number. 

If the signs are the same:

  1. Add absolute values of each number, and
  2. Carry the common sign.

 

If the signs are different:

  1. Subtract absolute values of each number, and
  2. Use the sign of the number which has the greatest absolute value.
