Section 2: Convert Between Decimal and Percent Forms
It Is Important That You Watch This Video First
To convert from decimal form to percent form, multiply by 100%. Note: Multiplying by 100% has the same result as moving the decimal point two places to the right and adding the percent sign.
Example:
Write 0.64 in percent form.
Solution:
Multiply 0.64 by 100%.
To convert from percent form to decimal form, drop the percent sign and move the decimal point two places to the left.
Example:
Write 5.2% in decimal form.
Solution:
Drop the percent sign and move the decimal point two places to the left.
5.2% = 0.052
