HCC's Minority Male Initiative and Men of Honor partner to host Male Empowerment Network conference

The Minority Male Initiative outreach program partnered with the student organization, The Men of Honor, by facilitating a four-day Male Empowerment Network conference during the week of April 20 at Southwest College.

Keynote presentations included a professional legal panel, financial coaching, careers of the future and a closing luncheon highlighting Hugo Ortega a former HCC graduate from the culinary program, and named Chef of the Year in 2000 and 2011 at the Houston Culinary Awards.

The M.E.N. conference reached over 300 participants over a four-day span providing male students with valuable information that can be applicable to their personal, professional and academic lives.
