VMock FAQs
How Can Vmock Help?
Get Personalized Feedback on Your Resume
VMock SMART Resume gives you a detailed score measured against your peers and our recommended resume standards. This score gives you a clear picture of your resume's competitiveness within your target field and cohort. After you get a score, you can then edit your resume.
Edit Your Resume in Minutes
VMock SMART Editor helps you craft a resume by providing you suggestions for each bullet. Improve your word choice by replacing filler words with stronger verbs that make it easier for resume screening systems to scan your resume. Finally, convert it to your college template.
Get a Tailored Resume for Your Dream Job!
Now, optimize your resume against a particular job description or target career. VMock Resume Optimizer also assesses formatting and content placement to ensure that the resume of the user is ATS compliant.
How to Use SMART Resume and SMART Editor
SMART Resume will give you a score for your resume and advise if you are in the red, yellow or green zone. If you receive a score of red or yellow, you may want to edit your resume and have it rescored.
You have up to 10 uploads (and re-scores within SMART Editor) per year, with uploads resetting in March. It is strongly recommended that you action all feedback before re-uploading, so as not to churn through uploads and hit your limit too early.
Why should I use VMock?
- Instant Resume Assessment: Receive a personalized scorecard to benchmark your resume
- 24/7 Feedback: Get detailed, actionable feedback on your resume anytime, anywhere
- Targeted Improvement: Enhance your resume's content with specific, bullet-by-bullet suggestions
How long can I use Vmock?
VMock isn't a one-time use! You can upload and score your resume up to ten times per academic year, and your access continues for a full year post-graduation.
VMock Best Practices
VMock is a powerful tool to help you build a strong resume, but it's not a substitute for personalized career advice. Use it to refine your resume before meeting with a career advisor to make your appointments more productive and focused.
Focus on the Feedback, Not the Score: While VMock provides valuable feedback, remember that resume scoring can be subjective. Concentrate on the specific suggestions for improvement to strengthen your resume.
Use Your VMock Opportunities Wisely: You have 10 chances to upload or rescore your resume each academic year. Use these opportunities strategically to track your progress and make significant improvements.
Preserve Your Unique Style: If you've created a unique or creative resume format, stick to your original file and make changes manually. VMock works best with standard PDF formats from word processing applications like Microsoft Word.
