Experts and innovators in AI (artificial intelligence) will gather at Houston Community College’s 4th Annual National Conference on Artificial Intelligence April 9 – 11 to explore AI advancements, trends and impacts on the world.

The conference will take place from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily at HCC West Loop Campus, 5601 West Loop S. in Houston. Since its launch in 2022, the gathering has grown from a local and regional gathering into a much-anticipated national event.

This year’s conference will bring together over 60 speakers and panelists for 16 panels and presentations and 20 workshops. The discussions will cover a wide gamut of AI applications – gaming, healthcare, fashion, space, cybersecurity and more. Nearly 30 companies will exhibit their products, services and innovation.

HCC students will present their projects designed to solve real-world problems, and spotlight other achievements including their wins at the Intel AI Global Impact Festival competitions over the years.

The conference is an opportunity for professionals, educators, students and AI enthusiasts to network and gain insights from industry leaders while exploring career opportunities and professional collaborations.

AI is reshaping industries, redefining the workforce, and sparking global conversations about ethics, innovation and opportunity,” said Michael Webster, Ph.D., president of HCC Southwest. “This conference helps students broaden their horizons of today’s tech landscape and inspires them to see their potential to make their mark in the world.”

The conference is supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation and organized by HCC Digital and Information Technology Center of Excellence in collaboration with Miami Dade College, Chandler-Gilbert Community College and the National Applied Artificial Intelligence Consortium.

Conference sponsors and supporters also include AWS Machine Learning University, Google, NVIDIA, Microsoft, Intel, SeedAI, BoodleBox, DataVox, Minority Business Development Agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Greater Houston Partnership.

HCC was the first community college in Texas to start an associate degree in AI in 2020, two years before it launched the nation’s first bachelor’s degree in AI and Robotics.
